The journey of Oil

Mud motor rotors
IMG_6509

The crude petroleum and natural gas industry is made up of establishments engaged in operating oil and gas field properties. Such activities include exploration for crude petroleum and natural gas, drilling, completing and equipping wells, operation of separators, emulsion breakers, distilling equipment, and and all other activities necessary to making oil and gas marketable up to the point of shipment from the producing facility. This industry also includes the mining and extraction of oil from oil shale and oil sands, and the production of gas and hydrocarbon liquids through gasification, liquefaction, and pyrolysis of coal at the mine site.

  1. Strict HVOF powder quality control from Castolin Eutectic, the world’s leading powder manufacturer
  2. Inspect damaged part and prepare for processing.
  3. Strip and repair rotor defects.
  4. Prepare the surface by grit blasting, critical to maximize bond strength.
  5. Deposit cermet or carbide composite coatings using HVOF process derived from aerospace industry specifications.
  6. Polish with diamond abrasives, smooth finish reduces friction.
  7. Inspect and measure coating quality during process (Porosity: Less than 1%, Oxides: Less than 2%, Micro Hardness: Greater than 900 Hv, Less than 1300Hv)
  8. Apply proprietary sealer to fill micro-porosity.
  9. Complete densification process to increase toughness and completely shield rotor from high chloride, corrosive environments.
  10. Finished rotor ready for service (surface finish to customer specifications or min. 0.5 µm)
